Industrial nitrocellulose
Nitrocellulose (or correctly, nitrate of cellulose) is a derivative of cellulose, produced by the esterification of cellulose with nitric acid or with a strong nitration mixture, in the presence of sulfuric acid. Derivatives of natural nitrocellulose find application in many areas. Thanks to their relatively stiff molecular chain, they form a very hard yet flexible surface that is ideal for finishing metals, wood, leather, textile materials, etc.
The starting raw material for production of our industrial nitrocellulose is cellulose in the form of cotton or wood-based pulp.
All our production procedures reflect a system of quality management that has been approved by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, in compliance with the ISO 9001:2000 Standard. Regarding the fact that our company is a long-standing member of the ENA Association (European Association of Nitrocellulose Manufacturers), we strive to apply the recommendations of this Association during nitrocellulose production and subsequent packaging, though they are fully of a voluntary nature.
