For the upcoming basketball season Mattoni NBL the first-league Pardubice club will bear the name Synthesia again. Representatives of the club have introduced several new features regarding the sport and organisation.
Essential change is the partnership with the city of Pardubice established by the joint stock company BK Pardubice. City Council has decided to buy fifteen per cent of the club's shares. The city will have two representatives in the Supervisory Board, and apart from other benefits it will enable major part of the basketball matches to take place in CEZ Arena.
General partner of the club remains Synthesia. We have been involved in basketball in Pardubice for ten years. We have been through thick and thin with the sport. We have concluded new contract for one year. We contribute millions to the overall budget of 14 million CZK, which is more than in the past.
Another news that will make the basketball enthusiasts happy is the interest of Mattoni NBL winner in playing home matches with European teams in CEZ Arena. "Nymburk has signed up for the second most prestigious competition, which is ULEB Cup. Its hall does not meet European parameters, which is why the club has contacted us and Sazka Arena. These are the only sports halls in the country that comply with the strict standards," said Ivan Horyna, technical manager of the club.
Next new thing is the emerging Mid-European League, where we should play against Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Poland.
Last piece of news is the information concerning referees. Post of supervisor should be created to monitor the performance of referees, with the power to sanction them for possible wrongdoings.
We invite all the basketball fans for the upcoming season! For updated information visit www.bkpardubice.cz.
